Installation performance in which the visitor lies down with the telepresent image of another person.
Two double beds are located in two different places, one in a dark room and the other in a blue screen environment. Each bed has cameras and monitors around it, and a person lies in each bed. The bed in the dark room is visitable, and the projected image of the person from the other room captured in real time is projected onto it. The camera in this dark room captures the image of both people, the one physically present and the projected one, and sends it to the monitors in the blue screen room, so that the person in that room is aware of the interaction with the visitor. Additionally, at certain moments pre-recorded material is fused with the live image, such as water to make the bed appear as a pool.
The work explores the concept of presence through physical absence and evokes human interaction with or through digital technologies.
